Profile
I am an Associate Professor of Modern Chinese Literature and Culture in the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at the University of Oklahoma (OU). I received my Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at Rutgers University. My research interests include modern Chinese literature, women’s & gender studies, Chinese cinema, literary theory, labor discourse, and translation.
At the University of Oklahoma (OU), I have served on the Faculty Senate and the Research Council (Presidential Appointee). In the College of Arts and Sciences, I have chaired its Tenure&Promotion Review Committee (2020-2022) and served on Support of Teaching and Research Committee (2015-2017). In my home department Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics, I served on the Committee A, the Policy Committee (chair in 2019-2020), and the head of the Chinese section.
I currently serve as the Acting Editor in Chief of the peer-reviewed journal Chinese Literature and Thought Today and is a contributing editor for World Literature Today. Previously I served as Acting Editor in Chief of Chinese Literature Today from 2017 to 2021. I am currently one of the five elected members of the MLA Modern and Contemporary Chinese Forum’s Executive Committee.
